Botox®
Botox®, also known as Botox Cosmetic®, works by relaxing the muscles of facial expression. Once these muscles relax, the contraction of the muscle decreases, and fine lines and wrinkles soften. Utilizing Botox®, Dr. Wolf is able to directly treat the cause of these “movement” wrinkles. This is an entirely unique method for reestablishing or maintaining a youthful appearance to your facial features . Treatments with fillers like collagen, Restylane® and fat work by filling in the wrinkles that either are not amendable to treatment with Botox® or do not completely resolve with Botox®. However, for removing wrinkles in the upper third of the face, Botox® is the initial treatment of choice and is typically all that is needed.
Botox® is injected directly into the muscles that are causing your face to wrinkle. The unique activity of Botox® upon the muscle enables it to improve your appearance in a manner that is not addressed by more invasive facial plastic surgery.
The most effective locations of the face to treat are the horizontal forehead lines, the frown lines between the eyebrows, the crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes, the nasal bunny lines and the smoker’s lines of the lips.
Botox® treatment is temporary as over a period of three to six months the effects gradually fade. Generally, a person will need between two to four treatments per year.
Your comfort is very important us. Botox® can cause a mild pinch and sting when it is injected. We are pleased that we have developed methodologies to administer Botox®, which minimizes or eliminates this discomfort.
The purpose of Botox® is to make you look your best. However, your safety is our absolute first concern, which is why Dr. Wolf only uses Allergan’s FDA approved Botox Cosmetic® for all his procedures.
